2025 SUMMER CLASSES
We are so excited for all of the amazing summer classes VDP has in store for you this summer. Summer is the perfect time to try a new class or to develop your skills, while not having to balance school-work and extracurricular activities. Victoria Dance Productions offers classes for dancers age 2.5-18, for all skill levels – Beginner to Advanced.
The 2025 Summer Session Season runs from June 16th to July 24. Note there are no classes on July 3 or 4. A majority of our classes are 5 or 6-week sessions. We know summer is busy and you may need to miss a class. So, we have already prorated the price! Take the 6-week session for the price of 5 classes. Or the 5 Thursday classes for the price of 4!
We also have 5 fun one-day camps for our 3-6 year olds! Those camps run from June 24-August 20th.
Several classes have registration discounts! Be sure to register by June 1st to save more on your summer dance!
Also please note, as summer class sizes are very limited, there is a 20% cancellation fee on all classes held from June 9-September 1. The balance of the refund will be credited to your VDP account to be used for your next class session.

Adult Ballet
AGES 18+
Adult ballet is for anyone that would like to acquaint or reacquaint themselves with ballet. Typically it involves an hour long barre class that is geared for introduction to ballet and using ballet to promote healthy exercise. Adult Ballet is a fun and unique way to take time for yourself and is an inclusive environment that lets you engage with ballet and movement to any degree you are comfortable with.

Pointe
Pointe is a more advanced elective to ballet that requires strong technique and ballet understanding, advanced ankle strength and hard pointe shoes. For the success and safety of each dancer, prior permission from the Director of Birchwood Ballet is required. Dancers are also required to take a minimum of two standard ballet classes with BBA to ensure the continued growth and strength needed for pointe shoes.

Partnering
Partnering is an essential skill every dancer utilizes. From the smallest interaction between dancers on stage to big lifts, all dance styles include partnering. This class will cover: weight sharing, safety, mechanics of larger lifts, strength, and conditioning. Bring a friend and have fun moving with each other in this newly added class.

Lyrical
This class incorporates jazz, lyrical, modern and ballet styles. It adds strength and modern movements to our lyrical ballet steps. Contemporary is the perfect marriage of all of our soft shoe dance styles. The class will include across the floor, center lyrical and center contemporary combinations.
Our Petites Class will be more Lyrical in style to prep our younger dancers for lyrical competition teams.

Jazz
Jazz class is one of the most fun classes of the summer! This class will incorporate jazz style and technique, while working flexibility and strength for clean pirouettes, high leaps, and advanced skills. Dancers will learn jazz combos and routines while working on their style and skills, both across the floor and in center.
Dancer Strength, Conditioning & Recovery
A dancer’s core and body strength is one of the most important attributes for a successful dancer. This strength is developed over time with the right combination of training and exercises. This class is the start to developing the best mix of strength, flexibility and cardio endurance your body can achieve. We will also work on the very important phase of recovery! This step is vital to our body’s health and wellness.

Improvization (Improv)
Dance improvisation is spontaneously creating movement, without pre-planning any steps or choreography. Through guided exercises and directed themes, dancers move freely, without relying on set movement patterns. In improvisation, develop the skills to create new, original movement and to dance full out without placing limits on “right and wrong”.
Acro For Dance Tiny Tots
AGES 2.5-4
Your pre-school dancers will flip for this tumbling class! This class will introduce your tiny tot to the basics of acrobatics, the combination of classical dance training with gymnastics, while developing their flexibility and strength.
